Bernice Sanobye Brown November 26, 1927 May 31, 2021
Bernice Brown was born November 26, 1927 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. As a small child, Bernice moved in with her relatives, Will and Emma Carter. Bernice’s mother died at an early age. Bernice graduated from The Piney Woods School where she learned to play the saxophone in the school band orchestra. After finishing school Bernice was
trained as a Medical Assistant. Bernice worked in that field for over twenty years.
During her early working career she met and married Henry Brown. Mr. Brown died in a car crash a number of years later after that union. When she learned in depth about our Creator by studying with Jehovah’s Witnesses; she became convinced that he would care for her personally. She dedicated her life and was baptized in 1974. She loved reading the Bible, studying for Christian meetings and practicing Christian principles. Those who knew her well, commented that she rarely missed a meeting and she was a delightful volunteer for a variety of Christian activities.
Bernice attended several congregations during her theocratic service to God and developed many close friendships. She left a good name in her 93 years of life, which she finished on May 31, 2021. She will be dearly missed by her family
and friends! She is survived by two daughters, Jacquelyn Brown Robinson, Rita Brown Cox, one son, Burnis W. Brown, (Christi)), seven grandchildren, Jason, (Liz) Ayana, (Spain), Joe III, Gordon (Olivia), Marion, Jared, (Vanessa), Jason and five great grandchildren, and a close relative Eddie Carter, Jr. of Memphis, Tennessee and his daughter Debra Carter, (Dexter).
