The decision of whether to be cremated or to be buried is a very personal one. The decision is entirely based upon what the deceased requested or, in absence of a request by the deceased, the preference of those closest to the deceased. There are a variety of cremation articles available to help guide that choice which cover religious, environmental, and personal views.

Our St. Louis cremation services offer both the possibility of a wider range of memorialization options and the lower cost associated with not needing an in-ground burial. The three most popular cremation options we offer are direct cremation without viewing, direct cremation with a private viewing, and cremation with a memorial service. For an additional fee we offer urns to hold the cremated remains. In general, our cremation packages are less costly than funeral packages, cremations provide a lower price point compared to a traditional St. Louis funeral service.

Having cremated remains allows you the opportunity to host a memorial service anywhere you choose, inside or outside the Missouri area. The logistics involved are much easier when it comes to holding a service with an urn than with a casket. This frees those wanting to remember the deceased by allowing them to hold a memorial service in a location that has meaning to the deceased, such as a private home or a favorite park, for example.

St. Louis Cremation Services
Consider memorializing the passage of a loved one with a cremation keepsake plaque.

Once a loved one has been cremated, you can choose to bury the ashes, scatter them or keep them in an urn. An advantage of having ashes is you can take the ashes, in an urn or other container, to a location outside the general range that a funeral home will go for a burial. It is best to check state and local laws about where you can scatter or bury ashes before you do so. Scattering or burying ashes can be done by just one person or by several people, making it an even more personal, intimate event.
